Essentially, o2 offers two types of SIM cards: Prepaid and Postpaid.
Prepaid is very flexible, as you only buy credit for your SIM card whenever you need it. However, you also do not get as much data as you could with a postpaid plan. These are O2’s current prepaid plans:

Postpaid is usually a 24-month contract, which means you need to commit to o2 for 2 years and you can only cancel your contract if you leave Germany to permanently live in a different country. Therefore, postpaid is a little less flexible, but usually also gives you more for your money. Sometimes, you can select a “flex-option”, which means that you can cancel your contract every month, but in turn you have to pay a higher monthly fee (usually 5€ more per month).

If you just need mobile data for your tablet or laptop, you can look into the o2 my Data plans. These SIM cards you can use for your tablet or computer (by using a surf stick), without using your smartphone data. Below you can see an overview of the different plans.

This is Mahmood Aryubi in February i arrived Germany, and on the 15 of march i bought a sim card from o2 company and i used the internet even call service but on 17 of APR i open a new account of whats up, when i saw in my profile there was already a photo of a guy with lady and i was definitely surprised i thought maybe automatically happens this and then i want it to change but it doesn’t work and i was tired and just leave it and may fix it next time, so after 3 days suddenly stooped working my what-up and start to repair it but i couldn’t when the asked me for verification the code do not come to me after 2 days i got able to get the verification so when i wanted to enter it doesn’t work and finally i got the phone call a guy and me who are you? and how you got this number i just answered i bought it from o2 company and he said this is my number, how could be possible this which company sell this because still i am using this. Doing business in this way and making profit through the sale of mobile SIM cards is very unfortunate. One SIM card number and two users mean that both of them have entered each other’s privacy. They can also enter someone’s privacy in this way. It is not acceptable at all, I request you and your company to take a serious look at this matter.
